About the event

*This group is for people already working in a field suited for supporting end of life psychedelic work, such as therapists, health care workers, medical clinicians, death doulas, hospice workers, professional caretakers, experienced psychedelic sitters/guides, and so forth. It is not for people seeking access to or support from such professionals.*

The purpose of this group is to start building a network of committed practitioners interested in providing or helping facilitate psychedelic experiences for their clients/patients approaching end of life (regardless of whether one is already involved in this realm or simply educating oneself to be prepared when this type of work is more fully legalized). By cross-pollinating knowledge and skills amongst multiple fields of practice, our community will be better poised to support EOL psychedelic work happening more skillfully as more psychedelics become legal and the field begins to open up. This network could also be called upon to create care teams (such as a guide, caretaker, nurse, hospice worker, and family member, for example) to foster the safest and most supportive environment for any given patient/client.

This group will be a space to share experiences and lessons learned, pertinent educational resources and trainings, and risks and challenges. Also welcome will be practical questions, addressing safety concerns, learning from and supporting one another, and drawing from one another's strengths.

Topics addressed will depend on the group's interest, but may include quickly shifting legal and licensing issues, sharing practical tools and recommended modalities, self-inquiry questions and skill building for facilitators and supporters, how to hold and work within various perspectives/modalities, how to create supportive community for clients around integration, and best practices for working with end of life populations and with psychedelics in general, just to name a few. Sharing knowledge around intake processes, contraindications, psychedelic type/dosage, and situational assessments may also be a focus.
