About the event
This will be a community sourced training on providing peer support for those navigating psychedelic experiences. This might include intentionally sitting for a friend, volunteering at a peer support tent at local events, or simply being an informed member of our community. We welcome both those who are experienced and those who are new to this field of study.
Topics will include the difference between sitting and guiding, how to create a safe and welcoming container, screening and preparation, ethics and agreements, how to support others navigating difficult experiences, compassionate presence/listening, aftercare and integration, end of life considerations, being trauma informed, peer support tents, and so forth.
