We are excited to be cohosting an extraordinary opportunity to advocate for, learn from, and engage in reciprocity with an indigenous community that has been incorporating plant medicine into their spiritual and healing practices for many generations. In addition to sharing their music, the Huni Kuin will also serve optional hapé made directly in their village for those who are interested. Hapé is a traditional Amazonian plant medicine blend and one of the most important medicines for many of the tribes of the Amazon Rainforest, including the Huni Kuin. It is generally tobacco based, with the ashes of certain trees and sometimes other herbs included. It is used for connecting to spirit, grounding, transforming thoughts, making prayers, and many other purposes.
