About the event
Our Peer Support Tent season is almost upon us and we would love your help in supporting this community endeavor. So far, we plan to set up our tent at the following local events (with another couple still in the works), all of which we also recommend attending!:
Aug 25-27: Thing Festival
Sept 8-10: Moonfest
Sept 22-24: Departure Festival
The PTPS Peer Support Committee is led by Brittney Northrop and is dedicated to organizing and training individuals to provide a safe and supportive space during community events for individuals undergoing a challenging psychedelic experience (similar to spaces provided by the Zendo Project: https://zendoproject.org/about/).
Please join this meeting if you are planning or interested in volunteering for our peer support tent at festivals/events this summer, whether that's helping with set up/take down, engaging in peer support roles, or staffing an information table. Or if you are not able to attend this meeting but are still interested in being involved, please email Brittney at brrrnor@gmail.com to be added to the mailing list and kept in the loop.
We are also still in need of the following items, in case you have any to donate or if you would like to directly purchase any for the tent:
2 five-gallon water jugs
Large (8x10 or 10x10) tapestries to hang on tent walls (3-4)
2 comfy "boyfriend style" pillows with arms
2 trifold mattress pads
2-3 backjacks
4x6' pop-up table and table cloth for info booth
2 camp chairs
50 ft extension cord
Large Portable Battery with plug ins (like the GoalZero Yeti or Jackery ones)
Misc: other space-beautifying and experience-enhancing items such as rose water, incense, or burnable herbs (please no endangered white sage), paperweights for info booth flyers, relevant books for info booth
We also welcome donations via Paypal here to help us purchase these items.
Thank you all so much and we hope to see you on Wednesday the 9th!
